Content writing

Your page, written.

Pages and articles written for Singapore businesses. Researched against real sources, priced per piece, and handed over ready to publish.

Worth saying first

The brief decides more than the writer does.

A good writer working from a thin brief will give you a page that reads well and says nothing. The answers that decide whether a page works are the ones only you have: what you charge, which customers you may name, what you can actually prove.

So we published those questions rather than keeping them. It is a one page brief inside a short guide, thirteen questions, free, and there is nothing to sign up for. Fill it in and hand it to whoever writes for you. That does not have to be us.

It is also the honest test of whether you are ready to buy writing at all. If you cannot say what you charge or what you can prove, no writer can rescue that, and you should fix it before you pay anyone, ourselves included.

Download the brief (PDF, 5 pages), or read the rest of our guides.

What you get

One piece, and everything in it.

The same standard we hold our own pages to. Every factual claim is checked against a source before it goes in, because the advertising code covers your own website, not just paid ads.

Research and sourcing

We read the source material and check the facts against the publisher’s own page rather than a summary of it. Anything we cannot verify does not go in.

Images

Typically one to three, one of them the feature image, and more on a longer piece. Generated or licensed from stock rather than shot on commission, so we cannot pass on full commercial ownership. Use of the image is limited to the webpage content it was supplied for.

Structured data

The schema for the page, written and handed over with the piece. Whoever puts the page live applies it. If we already run your SEO, we apply it ourselves.

Two revisions

Two rounds of revisions per piece are included. Beyond that we quote, rather than leave the number open and argue about it later.

What is not included: putting the page live. You get the finished piece and its schema, and whoever runs the site publishes it. The exception is clients already on an SEO retainer with us, where publishing is part of that work.

Pricing

Priced per piece, published.

We would rather print the number than make you ask for it. There is no retainer to sign and no minimum to commit to.

One piece

A single page or article, written and handed over

S$218 per piece
  • Research and fact checking against primary sources
  • One to three images, including the feature image
  • Structured data written and handed over
  • Two rounds of revisions

Three pieces

For a set of pages, or a run of articles

S$545 for three
  • Everything above, on each of the three
  • Works out at about S$182 a piece
  • All three commissioned within twelve months

Both figures are in Singapore dollars and include GST, and work starts once payment is received in full. Length follows the subject, and a piece is typically 600 words or more; if a subject needs more than one piece can carry, we say so and quote it as more than one. Putting the page live is not included unless we already run your SEO. Two revisions per piece; more are quoted separately.

What we can show you

The proof is the site you are reading.

We have no case studies to show you for this, and we are not going to borrow numbers from other work and call them writing results.

What we can show is this site. The three service pages, their pricing pages, the audit page and eight guides were made to the standard above. Every one of them was researched against the publisher’s own material, checked line by line, and put live only once each claim traced to something still on file.

That is the same advice our brief gives anyone with no track record yet: show your method and your specifics, and never invent the rest.

Questions

Do I have to use your brief?

No. It is free, it asks for nothing in return, and it works just as well handed to a freelancer or to somebody in your own office. We wrote it because the answers only you have are the ones a page fails without, not because it routes work to us.

I am already on your SEO retainer. Does this apply to me?

Only past a point. Rewriting the copy on pages you already have stays part of the retainer and is not counted or capped, and new articles are included at one a month on the smaller plan and two on the larger one. This rate is for publishing more heavily than that. On the retainer we also put the pages live and apply the schema ourselves.

Will it rank?

Writing alone is not an SEO service and we will not pretend otherwise. A well researched page answering a real question is the part you need before ranking is even on the table, but the technical foundation, the site structure and the internal linking are separate work. That is what our SEO service does.

How long is a piece?

As long as the subject needs. A piece is typically 600 words or more, but we do not write to a target. Briefing a word count is one of the five things our own brief tells you to leave out, so it would be odd to sell one. If a subject turns out to need more than one piece can carry, we say so and quote it as more than one rather than stretch it.

When do I pay?

In full, before we start. Work begins once payment is received, which keeps the arrangement simple in both directions and means there is nothing to chase at the end.

How many images come with a piece?

Usually one to three, one of them the feature image at the top. A longer piece may take more, and we add them where they earn their place rather than to a quota.

Can I reuse the images somewhere else?

No. Use of an image we supply is limited to the webpage content it was supplied for. It does not extend to brochures, social posts, advertising or anything you sell.

Do you write for sites you did not build?

Yes. You do not need to be a client for anything else, and the piece is handed over ready for whoever runs your site to publish.

Send the filled in brief, or just the question you want a page to answer. We will tell you what we would write, and if we think it is really three pages rather than one we will say that instead.
